T4T booster draws our circle wider

Teaming 4 Technology’s first workshop of 2010 benefited one good friend of T4T’s programs, as well as some first-time attendees.

Glenn Ragans is the principle of the IT firm GPR Enterprises and a T4T volunteer. He sets up networks in local nonprofits on the West Side, particularly churches. A regular of T4T’s offerings, on Wednesday, Jan. 27, Ragans brought three friends from a day care center he services to T4T’s location in the offices of the United Way of Metro Chicago, 560 W. Lake St., to learn some basics and intricacies of Microsoft Word 2007.

True to his word, the Microsoft Certified Systems Developer had impressed upon Patsy Berry, Tania Berry and Lillie Jones of World Wide Family Angels the importance of picking up as much about computers as they can so their group doesn’t have to rely on his help. “If they learned to do things themselves, they wouldn’t have to call me. I have to charge them because it’s my business,” he has said of his concern for his clients’ pocketbooks.

Ragans is already looking forward to the MS Excel class on tap for the middle of February; he plans to be back again with more customers.

To register, look for the exact date and time in T4T’s upcoming monthly newsletter.
