St. Leonard's Ministries
A Model of Technology Success
St. Leonard's Ministries (SLM) has been providing residential services, case management, and an array of programs, for the past 49 years. St. Leonard's Ministries, through its 5 program sites, St. Leonard's House, Grace House and Lab, and St. Andrew's Court and Lab, serve approximately 350 ex-offenders annually. "Our mission is to assist men and women exiting prison to become healthy, legally self-sufficient, productive members of families and communities," says Sister Jean Hughes.
Working with Teaming for Technology during the project's 6th year, SLM constructed a comprehensive technology plan spanning 3 years. The technology plan details the work and resources needed to construct the Michael Barlow Employment Center, a proposed centralized resource lab for all SLM clients.
Impressed by the commitment of its staff and thoroughness of its technology plan, Teaming for Technology dedicated resources toward this organization with confidence that it would be successful in achieving its intended goals. Through IBM's annual hardware donation, SLM received 9 new computers to outfit its administrative facilities and labs. "This gift helps our programmatic efficiency and our educational possibilities." This donation, in addition to software training and technology consulting, provided by Teaming for Technology, has enabled St. Leonard's Ministries to achieve the first year goals of its technology plan.
