Our New Website Development:

We are working on a new website based on a content management system (CMS) such as Drupal, Joomla, and others. Please feel free to see the preview Alpha site and send us feedback if you like. Thank you for your patience with both the old and new sites as we make the transition hopefully this year. -David Flint

Women's Self-Employment Project

Women's Self-Employment Project (WSEP) aspires to raise the income and degree of economic self-sufficiency for low and moderate-income women through a strategy of self-employment and asset development, while serving as a catalyst for developing viable options for alleviating poverty. This organization came to Teaming for Technology, seeking assistance with acquiring needed hardware and matching volunteers and resources.

Teaming for Technology has updated this agency's client workspace with 2 new Pentium 4 IBM computers through its annual IBM hardware allocation. These machines now provide visiting clients adequate facilities to conduct research and draft resumes in preparation for employment.

Teaming for Technology consulted this organization regarding its spending on technology solutions, citing lower-cost Internet Service Providers. "[Thanks to Teaming for Technology,] we are switching Internet/Email providers and will be saving almost 47%." according to Damaris Shaffer, Information Management Coordinator at WSEP. These new providers will also save WSEP approximately 43% in local and long-distance costs. Suggestions were also made to develop a more efficient network. Additionally, WSEP was directed toward cost-savings distributors, such as Tech Soup, enabling WSEP to purchase virus software at a 91% discount.

"[The volunteers] working on our database and website are terrific." Those volunteers are Swati Shah and Jeff Kupiec, both of whom spent countless hours in revamping the Access database and WSEP website, respectively. The generosity of community members, such as those working at Women's Self Employment Project, dramatically increases the community impact of a project like Teaming for Technology. "Thank you guys for all the help, suggestions, equipment and trainings you have provided for us!"
