Submit one now or later! We use volunteer resumes to contact volunteers about projects that match their experiences and interests. We ask all volunteers to submit a resume for review before we assign them to projects. However, you should still sign up even if you don't want to submit a resume right now.

separated only by spaces. For example, if you are a web developer that is
interested in PHP and ASP and JAVA, you would type:

Special:
Hardware
  • More than "peripheral plug-in" understanding of computer hardware
  • Ability to build and reconfigure the hardware of computer systems
  • Understanding of and ability to install & troubleshoot hardware drivers
  • Ability to evaluate existing hardware and advise on future purchases
Networking
  • The ability to connect network hardware and troubleshoot basic hardware-related issues.
  • The ability to setup and configure a TCP/IP network on a workstation-type machine
  • At least basic knowledge of networking principles
Databases
  • Experience with at least one DBMS (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL, MS Access)
  • Experience designing databases for database-driven applications
  • Ability to analyze and optimize existing and proposed databases
  • Ability to migrate and integrate existing databases into future applications
Website Maintenance
  • Basic coding ability in HTML and/or server-side scripting languages
  • Ability to update an existing website with new information
  • Ability to integrate new content into an already-existing design and framework
Training
  • Some instruction (not necessarily computer-based) experience
  • Confidence in one or more of the following topics: Office applications, desktop & web mail clients, user-level computer security, basic computer user/interaction
Website Development
  • Experience designing attractive, functional websites
  • Experience with a server side scripting language (e.g. PHP, Ruby on Rails, Perl, ASP[.NET])
  • Ability to develop a full web application (with database support)
  • Ability to integrate already-existing content and designs into new projects
Support
  • Some experience in a "Tier 1" or "Tier 2" support environment
  • Ability to answer basic how-to questions and handle limited task-based training
  • NOTE: Time limits will apply to this type of engagement
Systems Administrator (Windows)
  • Experience with a Windows server (e.g. WinNT Server, Windows Server 2003, Windows Small Business Server)
  • Ability to perform maintenance and installation of workstations in a networked environment
  • Ability to roll out new software across a Windows domain
  • Experience troubleshooting server issues (e.g. DNS problems, user access issues)
  • Ability to deploy a new server and architect a network
Systems Administrator (Unix)
  • Experience with a Unix-like server (e.g. *BSD, Linux (any distribution), Solaris)
  • Ability to perform maintenance and installation of workstations in a networked environment
  • Ability to install, configure and maintain software on a *nix server
  • Experience troubleshooting server issues (e.g. DNS problems, user access issues)
  • Ability to deploy a new server and architect a network
Telecomm
  • Familiarity with the offerings of communications providers (e.g. phone, VoIP, varying speeds/qualities of internet connection, video)
  • Experience with telecomm hardware (beyond "consumer grade" equipment)
  • Basic understanding of varying telecomm/communications technologies
